Sullivan Bay, North Broughton Island

On  approach to Sullivan Bay Tuesday afternoon we discovered a unique community of float homes located on the north end of North Broughton Island.  It is actually an entire floating village including a restaurant, store, fuel station, private homes and marina.

Most docks we encounter are either alpha or numeric but Sullivan Bay isn't your run of the mill marina.....We're directed to tie up on:

And then, this goose flew in.......
Can't recall seeing a Grumman Goose in active service before but this one flies supplies in from Port NcNeill on Vancouver Island every few days. Torben was delighted to find the supplies included some bottles of chardonnay.

We were encouraged to watch for bears on the shore at low tide and, sure enough.....
With the swipe of a single paw, this beautiful creature moved large bolders and foraged for mussels and clams while we watched in awe (safely, from the dock)
