Beautiful Cruise to Nanaimo

We needed to be at Dodd Narrows at 10:14AM to catch slack water and arrived just one minute late.  We passed through easily with 4 other boats and were on the Nanaimo fuel dock by 11.  Topped up with fuel and water and were tied up at the guest dock  by 11:45.

BC liquor stores are closed Sundays but we found a wine shop and purchased a couple of cases.  Torben enjoyed using his new handy-dandy collapsable hand truck to get the cases back to the boat.

Tomorrow is our primary provisioning day and our last chance for a "real" grocery store so our list is long.

Today's pix: G on the foredeck as we left Poet's Cove this morning.  Note the BC ferry in the background (runs between Vancouver and Sidney BC),  GPS view of Dodd Narrows.  2 Hours after we passed through the narrows, the current was running at 8.5 knots, Main Attraction tied up on the guest dock at Nanaimo and Torben shows off his new wine transportation device.

  1. Diesel: check. Water: check. Booze: Check. Gotta love those priorities! We're really enjoying the blog G&T, keep the posts coming.

BTW, Toenail Clipper is getting worked on at CSR Marine as we speak, so it's looking good to meet you in Victoria.

  2. Wishing you a safe and glorious trip! I'm spending the day with Miller overlooking Salmon Bay, so not a bad day here, either! And dinner at Bastille--we'll be wishing you two were with us!
