Victoria Symphony Splash Weekend

On Saturday at lunchtime, we went to the Bengal Lounge at the Empress for curry.  It's an annual tradition.

I remember going here with my parents when I was just about 10 or 11.  It hasn't changed.  Victoria has so many historic institutions (leave it to us to consider a lounge one of them!)

Pam and Laurie verify that the specialty drinks at the Bengal are quite tasty....

Our waiter, Paul, discusses his homeland (India) with Denis and Pam.
Denis lived in India for a time in his youth.

We always have a photo taken in front of the tiger.

Now we need to get back to the water.  Our friends, Mike and Eryn with their daughters, Maddy and Maezy and, of course, Mr. Fezziwig, are due to arrive soon.

After clearing customs, the Haldeman family in "Toenail Clipper" (yes, you read that correctly), rafted alongside Main Attraction.  This is their first boat trip into Canada and the first time crossing the Straits of Juan de Fuca.  They did great!!!!

And new friends from the SYC, Lynne and Roger, arrived on their sailboat, Schatzi and rafted alongside Pam and Denis.  They are pictured above relaxing with their dog, Boo, on
the Main Attraction flying bridge after arrival.

Did I mention that, with the arrival of Mike and Eryn and Lynne and Roger we now are 4 boats and 4 dogs on the S-2 dock?

Dogs and people enjoyed a lovely afternoon and evening together.

And Tommy took this shot from the bow of our boat after dark on Saturday evening.

Next post...  the first Sunday in August is Symphony Splash Sunday.
